Bruno as a puppyDowntown Dog Rescue is thrilled to be participating in this year's Race for the Rescues! This year, our Race fundraiser is being created to help senior dogs like Bruno. Bruno was adopted as a puppy 11 years ago. His owner died, and that's how he was returned to us. He is a senior dog who has cancer ....his chances of being adopted, are pretty slim.

The reality of finding these dogs homes can take months, even years.  To increase the numbers of senior dogs getting into homes, we created a forever foster program.  You open your heart and home to a senior dog, like Bruno- we continue to cover the cost of any future medical  care that he may need.  We know when we rescue a senior dog from a shelter that we will likely spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars for medical care upon rescuing them.  This year our Race is dedicated to the senior dogs in our care, those who are in their DDR Forever Fosters, and the senior community dogs that we support with medical care.  Join our team and support senior dogs!
